Stronger together
Dian and Kristel had been best friends since their first year in senior high school. They were known for always sitting together at the back of the classroom, laughing over small jokes and helping each other with schoolwork.
One rainy afternoon, Dian stared outside the window as dark clouds covered the sky. She was unusually quiet. Kristel noticed it right away. Dian, who was normally energetic and talkative, barely spoke the whole day.
“It’s nothing,” Dian said softly.
But the heavy rain continued to pour, almost as if it reflected the weight in her heart.
As days passed, Dian began missing deadlines and seemed distracted during class. Finally, after school, she admitted to Kristel that she was overwhelmed with personal and academic pressure. She felt like she wasn’t good enough and was thinking about giving up.
Kristel gently told her, “You are stronger than you think. And I’m not going anywhere. We’ll face this together.”
From that day on, they reviewed lessons together, reminded each other of deadlines, and encouraged one another. Slowly, Dian regained her confidence. When exam results were released, both of them passed with high scores. The rain eventually stopped, and the sun shone brightly again. Dian realized that even the strongest storms pass — especially when you have a true friend like Kristel by your side.
